Musical Theatre Intensive, June 3-7, 2013
We’ll kick off the summer with this unique training program, designed for motivated young performers who are ready for a challenge!  Broadway scenes and songs will be chosen specifically for the participating students, and everyone will have featured roles and solos in our Broadway Showcase on Friday, June 7 at 2:30pm.   Each day includes training in acting, voice & movement, rehearsal time, and lunch/free time at West Side Park (weather permitting).   Bring sack lunch.

Fairyland Dance Camp, June 17-21, 2013

Fillyanna:  The Pony Who Wanted to be a Princess

If you love horses, fairies, princesses, dragons, knights and other magical creatures, this camp is for YOU!  Miss Donna is ready to put your ideas into her exciting story about the horse, Fillyanna and Miss Alexandra will lead you in expressing your part through creative movement during a fun filled morning of story drama, craft, dance and imagination.

Magical Music and Dance Camp, June 24-28, 2013
In Fairy legends it has been told that the Summer is a most enchanted time when all the unseen sprites and elves make treasures by the light of the sun and sing and dance by the light of the moon. Miss Kat is ready to lead us in the most sparkly treasure making experience ever and will be our Merriment Music Director as she teaches us all the magical fairy songs that Miss Donna has composed especially for this camp! Miss Donna is thrilled to return to Champaign Urbana for this special week to see her old friends and new in Fairyland. Come join us all ye Dragons, Sprites, Fairies, Princesses and Knights!

Acting & Voice Workshop, June 24-28, 2013
 

This two-part workshop is a wonderful way to sample some of Class Act’s training opportunities.  Each afternoon will include two class sessions, with a short break in between.   With Jaclyn Loewenstein (Acting & Theatre Games), students will learn a variety of theatre games that focus on teamwork, creativity, character development and storytelling.  With Kat Downs (Vocal Technique & Performance Skills), students will receive basic vocal training, including breath support, pitch, projection, and musical theatre song interpretation.   The week culminates with a short showcase at the end of Friday’s session.

Broadway Babies Musical Theatre Camp, July 8-12, 2013

This one-week, half- day Early Childhood experience is for our youngest performers, ages 4-7.  Miss Kat will guide the children to explore some popular Disney musicals while integrating creative dramatics, music, art and character games.

Audition Technique, August 12-16, 2013
Auditions can be intimidating, but this workshop will help you gain the confidence you need to audition like a pro!  Students will participate in a variety of mock auditions and receive individual feedback, as well as tips on cold readings, dance auditions, song/monologue selection, and more.  By the end of the week, you will be prepared for fall auditions at your school, local theatres, or at Class Act!
The week culminates with an audition demonstration at the end of Friday’s session.

Taught by Jaclyn Loewenstein, MFA director with Broadway casting experience, and Kat Downs, professional musical director/accompanist.
